Query Data Table View

The data table is a component found in Query and Journey tabs.

It is a tabular view into the event storage database for investigations and analytics purposes.

Columns Displayed

All attributes in Darwinium on events form a hiearchy. See Attribute Reference for dictionary of these.

New columns can be added to the data table by:

  1. Ticking them in the column selection pane. Ticking a group heading will include all attributes within.

  2. Drag and dropping attributes from column selection pane into the Data Table

Column Order, Sort, Pinning , Width,

Order: Column headings can be drag and dropped to change column order. Order defaults to that in column selection pane.

Sort: The rows in Data Table can be sorted by clicking on any column header

Pinning: Columns can be pinned when past the dividing line on either side when scrolling data horizontally.

Size: Any column width can be adjusted by

  1. Holding and dragging the dividing line between column headings

  2. Autosizing through the column header's menu

Virtual Columns

  • A virtual column allows you to apply a custom expression to manipulate data on existing attributes

Steps create and view a Virtual Column

  • Click on Virtual Columns tab on the far right of the grid view. This will take you to the section to see all virtual columns

  • To create a new Virtual Column click on “Add New” button

  • Give the virtual column a name in the “Name” box, input your expression in the “Expression” box & press the “Save” button

  • To view the Virtual column in the grid click on Columns tab on the far right of the grid & then select the Virtual Attribute/s you are interested from the Virtual group heading

Column Color Formatting

The palette color of columns and cells in Data Table can be changed according to conditional rules

Selecting an attribute and Add Rule opens up the conditional formatting editor.

Single Color

Apply color based on boolean rule conditions.

  • Apply palette to: 

    • Grid ticked, formatting will apply to all attributes

    • Unticked, will just apply to the column attribute

  • If Attribute: Logic applied to the value of the attribute to determine if should be colored

  • Color: Color to apply. Can be selected from color picker or input as hex color code

Color scale

Apply color based on continuous value. Best for numeric attributes.

  • Preview: Shows color distribution that will be applied

  • Min/Mid/Max points: Define anchor points for color scale

    1. Min/Max Value: Automatically detect and use min/max value of attribute

    2. Number: Manually assign attribute value dictating color

    3. Percent: Assign color point based on % of max value of attribute

Template

A template can be stored of the columns present, width, size, pinning, custom colors

Selecting the template will restore the view of the data table
