Turn a walkthrough of your website into a Darwinium journey configuration. Journey Recorder observes your browser interactions, form fields and network requests, then proposes where to inject profiling and how to map requests to journey steps. Walk through the site yourself, or let an AI agent do it for you.
Use it to capture account creation, sign-in and other important customer interactions, or to extend an existing journey when your website changes.
Open Journey Recorder
In the Darwinium Portal, open Workflows and select the repository you want to work on. From the journeys overview, click Record and update journeys.
You need access to edit that repository, a website the recording browser can reach, and test details for the flow you want to capture. This example uses the Zest Bank demonstration website.

Record a walkthrough
- Leave Let an agent drive switched off.
- Enter your website's full Target URL, including
https://. - Choose the Egress route and, where available, Country for the recording browser. Use a route that can reach your website.
- Click Start recording and wait for the embedded browser to open.

Click, type and scroll inside the embedded browser as a customer would. Complete the flow through its final response: for example, submit the account-creation form, or sign in and wait for the confirmation or error page. These outcomes help the recorder understand the requests it observes.
The Discovered Steps panel fills as you browse. Each entry shows the request method, URL and suggested event type. inject profiling identifies a proposed profiling point; detected form-field contexts help configure behavioral collection.

A rejected login is useful coverage too. Record both successful and unsuccessful sign-in paths if you want the journey to distinguish those outcomes.

Stop and review the discovered steps
Click Stop when you have finished. Allow the final classification to settle before choosing what to include: the recorder reviews the whole session and can refine the labels shown during recording.
Expand a step to inspect the captured request, response and any detected fields. Check that the URL, method and event type match the interaction you intended to capture.
- Click the inclusion icon to exclude or re-include a step.
- Right-click a step and choose Change event type… to correct its classification.
- The not seen entries are coverage reminders. They are not recorded steps; perform those actions in another recording if they matter to your integration.

Update the journey
Click Update Journey. If the repository does not yet contain a journey, the action is labelled Generate Journey.
The Journey Generation window shows the planned steps and their progress. Review the step names, event types, URLs and extracted attributes. NEW marks steps or attributes added by this generation.

The recorder writes the generated configuration into your workflow repository. Open the journey file from Explorer (the files view) to see it in the visual journey editor. Select a generated step and check its Step Summary, Triggers, Data Mappings and Workflows. An existing journey may gain additional steps, so check for overlap with routes you already handle. The number of discovered candidates need not equal the number of new saved steps.

Follow your normal review and deployment process, then confirm the deployment and check the resulting events in Investigations. Generating the configuration is a separate step from deploying it.
If a step fails during generation, read its error, review its classification and captured request, and retry. You can exclude a problematic step and generate the remaining selection while you investigate it.
If the recorder reports CDN detection failed, resolve the connection or proxy issue and check the deployment targets before deploying. That warning means it could not write the detected edge targets.
Let an AI agent record the flow
Switch on Let an agent drive to ask an AI agent to navigate the embedded browser. This option is marked Experimental.
- Enter the Target URL and choose a goal template, such as login or account creation.
- Use Edit to make the goal specific to your website, then select Done. Include the full website URL in the goal, describe the flow and specify where the agent should stop.
- Select the available model and behavior settings, then click Start recording.

For example:
Go to https://zestbank.fraudgan.com only. Open the sign-in form and submit generated test credentials once. Wait for the response, then stop. Stay on zestbank.fraudgan.com. Do not reset passwords, change account details, make transfers or purchases.
Watch the browser and the discovered steps as the agent works. Use Assist to pause the agent and take control of the browser, then Resume agent to hand control back. Click Stop when you have captured enough.

Review the final steps and select Update Journey just as you would for a manual recording. The same review and deployment process applies to both modes.
